GPS (Global Positioning System) was started and developed with a project by the US Air Force to assist them with the military operations, such as intelligence gathering, nuclear explosion monitoring, and emergency communications. The number of 24 GPS satellites with global coverage up to 98% have been deployed. GPS has made a great contribution to all positioning, navigation and monitoring applications throughout the world and now it’s widely used almost every aspect of our lives.
A GPS tracker is a terminal with built-in GPS module and mobile communication module, which is a navigation device usually carried by vehicles or people that uses the Global Positioning System (GPS) to track movements. It is used to transmit the location data to a server on the Internet by using the cellular service (GPRS or GSM network), so that it can be implemented on the computer. GPS tracker can be used for personal asset tracking, pet tracking, prosecution tracking, fleet management and etc.
